The Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, through the Directorate General for Transport and Highways improvement works projects, widening and strengthening of road sign on the MU-412, in the municipality of Abanilla, including construction a new bridge over the river Chícamo, which will improve safety on the road.
The performance is budgeted at EUR 4,579,652.
The regional road MU-412 is an important communication channel linking population Abanilla with the C-3223, from Almansa and Murcia.
This is a two-way Chícamo crossing the river via a bridge to one lane, which means reducing the capacity of the road on the bridge and therefore the safety of traffic.
The main action of the project focuses on the implementation of a new variant and the construction of a bridge will have two lanes, one for each direction of traffic.
This project will address the effect of 'bottleneck' that occurs in the old bridge where only one lane prevents simultaneous movement in both directions.
Thus, the new bridge will have two lanes of 3.50 meters each and two six-foot sidewalk width for pedestrian traffic, compared to the existing bridge, which provides one-way traffic difficult in an area where daily average of 1,079 vehicles is, with 30 percent of heavy vehicles.
Other initiatives under this project is the resurfacing of the road MU-412 in the stretch to the intersection Abanilla C-3223, the installation of signaling and renovation services in the MU-412 road passing through the hamlet of Mahoya, whose input and output two roundabouts will be built to allow the reorganization of traffic in this area as well as improving road safety.
Finally, a refinement of the path will be able to improve the radius of curves, widening the track, strengthen and improve the roadside sign.
