A decrease of 19% in the number of crimes and offenses and 18% increase in the percentage of detainees in 2014 to 2013 are some of the most relevant figures taken from the Local Security Board held in Abanilla and co-chaired by the delegate Government, Joaquín Bascuñana, and the local mayor, Fernando Molina.
Last year 170 criminal offenses, including crimes and misdemeanors, compared with 209 in 2013 were counted, and the number of prisoners increased from 39 to 46, 2014.
These figures, as discussed at the meeting, quite reasonable in relation to the population, location and configuration of the municipality, composed of numerous villages in an area covering 234 km2.
The collaboration between agents of Civil Guard post Abanilla and own local police is constant, which results in frequent meetings where information is exchanged detected crime and joint measures to prevent crimes are designed.
