In recent days, residents have seen next to the industrial estate, a field where there are abundant remains of palm trees deposited outdoors.
Because the alarm created around the enormous damage it has caused and is causing the red palm weevil infestation in our municipality, the Municipal Socialist Group has submitted to City Council a set of urgent questions to know the origin of the remains, authorization and controls are followed, the entity that manages and the risk involved, among other issues.
Also, the city spokesman and candidate for mayor José Antonio Cutillas states the following "We prayed earnestly for the Mayor to monitor compliance with the protocol for the disposal of affected palms, move swiftly on this sensitive issue for the municipality and no spare resources in monitoring any suspicious movement to produce a brutal damage to our palm. "
