The University of Murcia (UMU) and the municipality of Abanilla will collaborate in volunteer activities related to education, leisure time, the environment and others, according to the agreement signed on Wednesday in the convalescent building, headquarters of the Rector's Office .
The mayor of the aforementioned city of Murcia, Ezequiel Alonso Gaona, said that the agreement is a very important boost to volunteer activities in their municipality.
The councilor added that they work for the achievement of a society that is increasingly entrepreneurial and supportive.
He has also shown his desire to be able to count as soon as possible with a permanent headquarters of the UMU in its population.
After the signing, both the vice-chancellor of Students, Internationalization and Sports and initiator of the agreement, Professor Carmen Ferrándiz, and the rector, José Orihuela, highlighted the importance of student participation in the activities contemplated in the agreement.
The councilor of Social Services, Women and Equality of Abanilla, Lina Tenza, also attended the signing of the agreement.
