These works have allowed to increase the security in the accesses to the urban nucleus and to the industrial estate.
Pedro Rivera said that "this type of actions are a priority for the municipality and because of these intersections circulate more than 1.4 million vehicles a year, which especially focus on access to Abanilla from Murcia, with more than one million passenger cars , Of which 102,000 are heavy vehicles, and at the exit from Abanilla to Mahoya, with 430,000 cars and 107,000 trucks.
The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure has invested 24,000 euros in the improvement works of these two roundabouts, which have consisted in suppressing the existing unevenness caused by the gutter of water that surrounds the inner circle of the roundabout and that can cause problems of road safety.
The minister stressed that "the regional government is committed to continue improving and adapting the 3,000 kilometers of regional roads, as these actions demonstrate."
The Ministry has also carried out other works in infrastructure of the municipality as the conservation works in the bridge of the road RM-412, on the river Chícamo, that gives access to Mahoya, and is the main route of communication with Abanilla.
In this same road has been made a firm treatment between the kilometers 2,3 and 3, in order to improve road safety, increasing the adhesion of vehicles to the road.
