The Governing Council, on a proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Environment, has given approval to the Community persone as private prosecutor in the preliminary investigation of summary procedure 42/2011, which are taught in the First lnstancia court and lnstruction number four of Cieza, Proambiente against the company for an alleged crime against natural resources and the environment.
The abandonment of the work of extraction and leachate management at the landfill and delays in the implementation of the actions of regeneration by the company originated an internal buildup in the vessels and the silting of the reservoir capacity of regulation.
Because of this situation, the Directorate General of Quality and Environmental Assessment issued the decision of 7 October 2015 establishing the subsidiary implementation of the actions of the execution project for the restoration of the landfill of municipal solid waste was agreed in the place La Solana in Abanilla.
It is therefore necessary for the Community to exercise criminal prosecution action as representative of the public interest and at the risk of serious harm to the environment and public health posed by the abandonment of the restoration work of sites.
