The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure invests 300,631 euros in the road safety improvement works that are being executed on the regional highway RM-412, one of the main communication routes of Abanilla and that connects its urban center with the hamlets of Mahoya and Campules.
The general director of Roads, Francisco González Manzanera, and the mayor of Abanilla, Ezequiel Alonso, visited today the works of the walk that will allow the neighbors to move "with total security" between the population centers.
The action consists of the construction of a pedestrian promenade that will have a length of 1.7 kilometers, which will start from the Pinoso road T-A7, at the height of the Ermita park, and continue on the regional route RM-412 until link to an existing sidewalk about 165 meters long near the population center of Mahoya.
"In addition to improving pedestrian communication and road safety, will increase accessibility to the hamlet and entry to homes built on both sides of the road," said the regional manager who recalled that this route circulates daily 1,400 vehicles, that 250 are heavy.
This action responds to a request from the City Council because it is a regular walk of many neighbors who make this journey on a daily basis and also is the route used during the festivities of the Holy Cross, in which thousands of faithful participate in the traditional pilgrimage to the hermitage of Mahoya.
