The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, through the Regional Entity for Wastewater Treatment and Sanitation (Esamur), has invested 64,000 euros in improvement actions for wastewater treatment plants in Abanilla and its hamlet of Macisvenda .
The director of Esamur, Joaquín Ruiz, together with members of the municipal corporation of Abanilla, visited these facilities today and verified the improvements that are made.
In the Abanilla treatment plant, the elimination of emerging contaminants in treated water is carried out by means of an ozone generation equipment.
For this, ozone is injected into the water in a mixing chamber, which is returned to the rolling pool.
In addition, emerging pollutants will be analyzed before and after the addition of ozone, every 15 days, for 6 months.
The amount of the improvement amounts to 28,000 euros.
In the Macisvenda treatment plant, a disinfection equipment has been installed using biodegradable oxidation techniques, using an alternative disinfectant to sodium hypochlorite, at a cost of 36,119 euros.
