The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia and the Local Police of Abanilla and Fortuna, within the framework of services aimed at preventing and prosecuting drug trafficking, have developed an investigation that has resulted in the dismantling of an indoor clandestine plantation , with about 300 marijuana plants, in a house in Abanilla.
A person, with a history of crimes of the same nature, has been detained as an alleged perpetrator of the crimes of cultivation and manufacture of drugs and fraud of electric power.
The operation was initiated thanks to citizen collaboration when the Local Police of Abanilla received a notice about the possible robbery in a house, located in the hamlet of Mahoya, to which a hooded individual agreed.
The agents moved to the building, where they identified the only resident, a young man, a neighbor from Alicante, with a history of crimes of cultivation and drug production.
The Civil Guard appeared instead, in which there was a strong smell characteristic of marijuana plants, as well as an unusually strong light from inside.
The examination of the house resulted in the seizure of about 300 pots with cannabis sativa plants in the initial phase of growth, distributed in two rooms, as well as numerous tools for indoor cultivation, such as halogen lamps, air conditioners and air extractors.
The property had been leased by the suspect, a resident of Alicante, from whom it was ascertained that he moved assiduously to the house in which, on some occasion, he came to spend the night, with the supposed intention of maintaining the care of the plantation.
In addition, the electricity supply that supplied the house had been fraudulently connected to the network.
In that act was arrested the tenant of the male building, 24 years old, Spanish and neighbor of Alicante as alleged author of the crimes of cultivation and manufacture of drugs and defraudation of electrical fluid.
The arrested was arrested in 2016, within the framework of the TÁRSICO operation developed in the municipality of Cieza, as alleged perpetrator of the crimes of cultivation, processing and trafficking of drugs, as well as belonging to a criminal organization.
The detainee, the drug seized, the effects seized and the proceedings ordered have been made available to the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Cieza (Murcia).
