The project has an investment of 2.7 million euros to increase road safety for drivers and pedestrians
The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, accompanied by the mayor of Abanilla, Fernando Molina, today visited the works that the regional government holds the RM-412, which connects with Mahoya Abanilla for increased road safety for drivers and pedestrians.
The works include construction of new bridge over the river Chicama and the construction of a new variant, which will have two lanes of 3.5 meters each and two sidewalks of two meters wide, "which allow the passage vehicles in both directions simultaneously, solving the effect 'bottleneck', while providing a comfortable and safe transit to pedestrians, "said José Ballesta.
Development works in the rest of the section under the actions have been completed.
This is the correction of tight bends, "which significantly improve the security of the nearly one million vehicles on the road a year," he said.
The action has a total investment of 2,734,000 euros and also includes extending the platform to 11 feet wide and the construction of three roundabouts for better traffic management.
At the road crossing the village of Mahoya also provides for the renovation of the drainage system for the safe disposal of rainwater.
Currently there is only the application of the wearing course and the urbanization of the journey as it pertains to the sidewalks.
The works were completed with the installation of appropriate signage, both horizontally and vertically, and the beacon.
"These works are an improvement of communications in the eastern region that also respond to a request from the City, due to increased traffic caused by the expansion of the municipality, and that will help the population continue to grow Abanilla in the coming years, "concluded the director.
