The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, accompanied by the mayor of Abanilla, Fernando Molina, visited the works in the RM-414, which connects this town with Santomera.
The proceedings have been completed this week and have included work for the widening of the road from the roundabout of the Cross, at its intersection with the variant, to the beginning of the town.
Guijarro explained that "the road now has ten meters wide and has been extended by five, 3.5-meter lanes and shoulders of 1.5 which is an improvement to travel on this stretch."
It has also left a space of three meters on each side of the berms to build sidewalks in the future and has marked the area meeting the requests of citizens and the Consistory.
Thus, Guijarro said, "are given a functional and secure way for transit, while conditioning one of the main entrances to town."
It also allocated 870,254 euros to build three roundabouts in this road and starting to close the roundabout giving access to the industrial park so that the objective of these actions is to regulate traffic and improve road safety in the movement of the residents of the term Municipal Abanilla, "added the CEO.
Also in the works soon be hired to adapt the RM-A9 in the section that connects the district of the town with the RM-410, which will be expanded and conditioned roadside drainage works for which there is a budget of about € 600,000.
Finally, the general director said that the municipality planned Abanilla also works to improve the RM-412, which connects this town with its hamlet of Mahoya, and with an investment of 4.5 billion euros, and recalled that part of the highway Yecla-Santomera go through this township.
